Seventh and eighth graders from St. Patrick Catholic School traveled to Washington, D.C. to participate in the March for Life on Jan. 21.

Principal Richard Rupcich said 36 students went on the trip, leaving the night of Jan. 18 and returning the morning of Jan. 22. In addition to the March for Life, students also toured the Capitol, laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery and attended Mass at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.

This was the sixth year for the trip for the march, Rupcich said, which did not take place last year because of the COVID-19 pandemic

Students back in Chesterton watched the March for Life on television, he added.
