Jeanette T. Klisiak, age 94, of Chesterton, IN passed away on Friday,
February 7, 2020 at her home. She was born on January 21, 1926 in Hammond,
IN to Jule and Olive (Baumgardner) Bell.
She
is survived by her sons, Eugene Jr. and Jeffrey (Kathy Whaley) Klisiak;
daughters, Anita (Robert) Budny and Nancy (Dr. Leonard) Ostrowski; siblings,
Mary Thiel, Donna Aultman, Olive Dempsey, and Jule Bell Jr.; 15
grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren.
She
was preceded in death by her parents, Jule and Olive Bell; husbands, Eugene
Klisiak Sr. and Wade Rambsy; sisters, June Schultz and Lorraine Brownfield;
daughters, Diana Robinson and Susan Bolla.
Jeanette graduated from Catholic Central High School, class of 1944. She
received her cadet core nurses training from St. Margaret’s Hospital in
1947. She ran and maintained the family campground Wapiti Land in Sumava
Resorts. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. There was a
twinkle to her bright blue eyes, she was full of energy, exercised daily and
loved water aerobics. She crocheted over 100 afghans for family and loved
ones and enjoyed cooking well-rounded meals with homemade bread, never
forgetting to include dessert. She loved to play cards, scrabble, and shoot
pool. Jeanette was the heart and drive for her family and she will be sorely
missed.
A
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2020, at
10:00 a.m., at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 638 N. Calumet Rd., Chesterton,
IN.
A
visitation will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2020, from 9:00 a.m. until
the time of mass at 10:00 a.m., at the church. Burial will take place at
Chapel Lawn Cemetery in Crown Point, IN.
In
lieu of flowers, monetary gifts will be donated to benefit local children in
need of school lunches and school supplies.
