Services Friday for Jacqueline Rolison Dougherty

Jacqueline Ruth Rolison Dougherty, age 86 of Chesterton, IN, passed away on July 14, 2019.

She was born on April 5, 1933, in Council Bluffs, IA, to Howard and Iris (Kelley) Rolison.

She was a member of New Hope Church of God, South Haven, IN. She worked as a custodian for Duneland Schools, Chesterton for 31 years. After she retired, she worked for Panazzo Stables for four years cleaning stalls in her 70s. She loved horses and has ridden since she was four. She loved her cats, Shadow and Sweetpea. Once each year she would pick 80 lbs. of strawberries and give them all away to shut-ins and friends, keeping only one pound for herself. She had many friends, some from years back. Jacqueline was a hard worker, and a true friend to all.

She is survived by her son, Daniel Dougherty, Chesterton; granddaughters, Denise (Robert) Vanderwerf, Knox, Danielle (Rob) Larson, Chesterton, Kathleen Dougherty, Portage, Sara (Aaron) Chitty, Waco, TX, and Brandi Dougherty, Waco, TX; grandsons, Paul Dougherty, Matthew Dougherty, James Dougherty, and Jeremiah Dougherty, all of Waco, TX; step-grandchildren, Michael, Michelle, Amber and Christopher in Waco, TX. She has 28 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, David and infant twins, Jackie and Johnny Dougherty, ex husband, Lowell Dougherty, and sister, Leora Hibbs.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 19, 2019, at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, IN 46304, with Pastor Jason Kegebein officiating. Entombment will take place at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso, IN.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
