Eva Jane Fryer
passed away peacefully on September 20, 2018.
She was born to
George and Grace Longfellow March 31, 1921, and married Richard R. Fryer
July 26, 1941--all pre-deceased her.
Surviving are her
six children: Judy (Michael) Farah, Richard J. (Ginger) Fryer, *Bonnie (Dan)
Cuson, Trudi (Tom) Neil, *Connie (Walt) Helminski, and Robert (Dai) Fryer.
Grandchildren: Janie Luis, Julie (Dr. Eugene) Daugherty, Joy (David) Plantz,
Rick (Linda) Fryer, Wendy (Mark) Anderson, *April (Peter) Brandy, Dan
(Angie) Cuson, *Andy (Kathleen) Cuson, Stephanie Bilardi, Rachel (Taylor)
Davidson, Emma (Chris) Lemcke, *Walter (Jenn) Helminski, *Joe Helminski, and
Hudson Fryer; almost 16 great grandchildren; and a great, great-grandchild;
and numerous nieces and nephews. (*Local residents).
Jane was active in
many charities and clubs: Eastern Star, Heart Fund, Women’s Club, Job’s
Daughters, PEO, DAR, Sierra Club, and Volts, as well as the many activities
in support of her children. She was honored as The Valparaiso Woman of
Distinction in 1959. Jane worked as doctor’s assistant, a sales associate at
John’s Ace Hardware, the first executive secretary for the MLS, and as a
realtor. Jane enjoyed gardening and baking. She made music an integral part
of her life incorporating it into all aspects of her being. These included
playing and teaching piano, singing solos, and directing junior choir at
Trinity Lutheran Church.
A Celebration of
Jane’s Life will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church on Thursday October 25,
2018, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation preceding at 10:00 a.m.
