Back To Front Page

William “Bill” Sullivan, Jr., passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, September 23, 2018, in his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on the 20th of November 1951 in Chicago, Illinois, to William and Lillian "Snooky" Sullivan. His father preceded him in death and his mother resides in River Forest, IL.

On January 12, 1982, in Chicago, IL, he married Laura Sullivan, and they began the adventure of love that neither of them expected.

Bill is also survived by his two boys, Archie and Emmett Sullivan who reside in Beverly Shores, IN; brother Brian (Nancy) Sullivan; sister Suzanne Brennan-Sullivan; beloved nephews and nieces Will, Teddy, Chantel, Shannon, Maddie, Ali and Brittany.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Shannon Sullivan.

Bill graduated from Fenwick High School in 1969. He then went on to receive a political science degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1973. Following this, he received a law degree from John Marshall Law School. From there, he worked the majority of his life to the end of his days as a successful practicing attorney helping everyone and anyone who sought his services. He will always be remembered as the happy, generous, lively, and helpful person he was, who did whatever he possibly could to make anyone feel loved, comfortable, welcomed, and taken care of. He was truly the type of person who could make a complete stranger feel as if they had known each other all their lives and he will be greatly and deeply missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Bill was an avid Notre Dame fan and enjoyed cheering on his ND Fighting Irish, spending long days at the beach, and surrounding himself with our friends and family whenever and wherever he could.
