Gerald L. Gerasch,
age 82 of Porter, IN, passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 (All Saints
Day).
He was born on
January 1, 1935, in Chicago, IL to Leonard and Elsie (Silhan) Gerasch.
He was married to
Anne E. (Kinney) Gerasch.
Gerald is survived
by his son, Lawrence G. (Sharon) Gerasch of Vulcan, MI; daughters, Bonnie
(Louis) Gross of LaPorte, IN, and Jerilyn (Kenneth) Pritchard of Valparaiso,
IN; brother, Allen Gerasch of IL; sister, Marilyn Cozzie of IL;
grandchildren, Aaron and Neil Gerasch, Louis and Stephen Gross, Daniel and
Adam Pritchard and Adrienne Spellmeyer and great-grandchildren, Kyle Gerasch
and Griffin Spellmeyer. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Anne
and grandson, Nathan Pritchard.
Gerald was a member
of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and Royal Neighbors of
America. He was active in Boy Scouts of America for many years. Gerald owned
Culligan in Valparaiso for several years and retired in 2006. He enjoyed
fishing, traveling and camping.
Mass of Christian
Burial will be held on Monday, November 6, 2017, at 10:00 a.m., at St.
Patrick Catholic Church, 638 N. Calumet Rd, Chesterton, IN, 46304, with
Father Jon Plavcan officiating. Entombment will follow at Graceland
Cemetery, Valparaiso, IN.
Visitation will be
held on Sunday, November 5, 2017, from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., at Edmonds
and Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, IN, 46304.
