Frank V. Zemaitis,
age 93, of Porter, IN, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2016.
Frank was born in
Chicago, IL on August 19, 1922 to Frank and Anna (Burris) Zemaitis.
He is survived by
his wife of over 70 years, Jane (Jewell) Zemaitis of Porter, IN; daughter,
Paulette English of Cottonwood, AZ, and grandson, Tasos (Pamela) Anastasiou
of New Carlisle, IN.
Frank was preceded
in death by his parents; son, Frank M. Zemaitis and sister, Jean Skoros.
Frank graduated
from Taft High School in 1940. He was a veteran of the US Navy, serving
during WWII. His rank was Petty Officer Third Class (E-4) and his specialty
was Aviation Machinist. He also served as Past Commander of Roy G. Erickson
American Legion Post in Chicago, IL. He started his own camera repair
business, Cam-Tech, where he worked for over 45 years. He was very creative,
having many small stories and articles printed in various publications. He
was an equally talented amateur cartoonist. Frank enjoyed volunteering for
Chellberg Farm for many years and was a diehard, life-long Cubs fan.
A Memorial
Gathering will take place on Friday, May 27, 2016, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00
p.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, IN, with
Memorial Service at 4:00 p.m. Chaplain Craig Forwalter will officiate.
