Kenneth K.
Anderson, 87, long-time Chesterton-area resident, died May 31, in Three
Rivers, Michigan, after a long illness.
He was born August
9, 1928, in Rushville, Indiana, the son of Koub Anderson and Inez Leona
Wright.
He had one brother
Neil who predeceased him in 1963.
He and his family
moved from St. Joseph, Michigan, to Chesterton (now a part of Burns Harbor)
around 1946. He followed his father in working as a printer at the Gary
Post. Later he and his family owned and managed the Rainbow Park in Burns
Harbor, until he retired to Michigan. He served in the Army of Occupation in
South Korea for fourteen months in 1947-48, and married Patricia Ann Moore,
of Chesterton, in October 1949. They had three children. For many years he
lived in Liberty Township near Crocker, but after his wife’s death in 1986
he settled in Burns Harbor.
He is survived by
his son Douglas A. Anderson of Marcellus, Michigan, and daughters Carol
Landree (Paul Childress) of Porter, and Susan Smith of Grand Junction,
Colorado, along with six grandchildren, Brenden Smith, Lindsey Walker, and
Kirsten Smith of Grand Junction, and Justin, Sara and Joshua Landree of
Porter; four great-grandchildren, and many nephews, nieces, etc. of the
Moore family.
