Stephen Tweddell service Saturday, August 3

Stephen Michael Tweddell, age 43, of Saint Paul, Minn., and formerly of Michigan City, Ind., passed away at home on Friday May 17, 2013.

He was born Oct. 13, 1969 in Valparaiso, Ind., to the late Morgan R. and Shirley E. (Hellman) Tweddell.

Surviving are his brother, Timothy of Michigan City; two sisters, Jill (Donnie) Ballou of Lansing, Mich., and Jennifer (Bill) Lint of Saint Paul, Minn.; two nieces, Alice (Tim) Ballou and Rachel (Royce) Ali; one nephew, Anthony; and four great-nephews, Joe-Joe, JJ, Noah and Eric.

Stephen was a 1987 graduate of Rogers High School and 1992 graduate of Marion College. Stephen was employed at the Indiana State Prison as a correctional officer where he retired from in 2011. Most recently he worked at the LaPorte County YMCA as a member service assistant.

A remembrance and celebration of Stephen's life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Evergreen Baptist Church, 2005 Coolspring Ave., Michigan City, Ind., with Rev. Jonathan Rumley and Rev. Ryon Adcock officiating.

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church. The Indiana State Prison will be presenting Honor guard. Burial will take place in Chesterton Cemetery.

The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City is assisting the family with arrangements.
