Marjorie Elizabeth Brunton, 88, of Lake Village, passed away
Saturday, September 14, 2013. She was born April 26, 1925 in Lake Village to
the late Ruben and Florence Rainford.
Marjorie is survived by her beloved husband of 68 years,
Gaylord Brunton; daughters Nancy Barnes (Larry) of Lake of The Four Seasons,
Ind., and Linda Emrick (Dave) of Davenport, Iowa; six grandchildren; six
great-grandchildren; sister Margaret Merchant and sister-in-law Shari Warne
(Bob).
Marjorie was preceded in death by her brother Lloyd Rainford
and his wife Agnes, and her brother Jim Rainford and his wife Rita;
brothers-in-law Dale Merchant and Carl Peacock, and sister-in-law Martha
Peacock.
Marjorie worked for a number of years as a book keeper in the
offices of Arbuckle Oil, where she and Gaylord were co-owners with Dean and
Barb Dawson. Marjorie taught school during WWII, and was a member of St.
Augusta Church and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed quilting, playing cards
and spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren and
great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Monday, September 16, from 5 p.m. to
8 p.m. at Sheets Funeral Home, 604 East Commercial, Lowell, Ind., 46356.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 17, at 11 a.m. at
St. Augusta Church, 3491 W State Road 10, Lake Village, Ind., 46349. Burial
will follow in Lake Village Cemetery.
