James B. "Jim"
Sagarsee, age 76, of Elwood, Ind., passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2014,
at Community Hospital North, Indianapolis.
Jim was born on
February 28, 1938, in Tipton to the late Tom Sagarsee and Marie (Talbot)
Gosnell.
Jim married Barbara
A. (nee Monize) on Sept. 27, 1958, and she passed away on Sept. 15, 2011.
He is survived by
two daughters, Kathy (Bob) Frye of Supply, No. Ca., and Felicia (Warren)
Tierney of Kokomo, Ind.; and two sons, Bradford (Renee) Sagarsee of South
Bend, Ind., and Rod (Tina) Sagarsee of Chesterton.
He is also survived
by 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; brother, Jack Sagarsee of
Huntington, two sisters, Markeeta Webb of Huntington, and Cozetta Monize of
Greentown, along with several nieces and nephews.
James was preceded
in death by his parents, wife Barbara, three brothers Tom, Dick, and Sed
Sagarsee, and a sister Nineth Merida.
Jim retired from
Continental Can in 1985 and Chrysler Corp. in 2000. He was a member of the
UAW #1166, Elwood Elks, and the Elwood Moose.
Funeral service
will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 19, 2014, at Dunnichay Funeral Home,
Elwood, with Pastor James Palmer officiating.
Burial will follow
in the Elwood Cemetery with full military graveside service conducted by the
Elwood VFW American Honor Guard Unit.
Visitation will be
Monday from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
