Carole Ann Pangburn service Thursday

Carole Ann Pangburn, age 69 of Valparaiso, Ind., formerly of Chesterton, Ind., passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Avalon Springs Health Campus in Valparaiso.

She was born on November 1, 1943 in Valparaiso, Ind., to Chester and Ruth Murray Pangburn, both of whom preceded her in death.

She is survived by her sisters Janet (Paul) Koch Shields of Palestine, Ill., Janice Pangburn Coslet of Knox, Ind., Pam (Ron) Pangburn Horlacher and Linda (Wayne) Pangburn Utterback, both of Valparaiso and Susan Pangburn McIntire, of Chesterton, and a sister-in-law Nancy Koch of Valparaiso, along with many nieces and nephews.

Carole was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents Margaret and William Murray, sisters Andrea Koch Lee and Jacqueline Pangburn Holdren and brother David Koch.

Carole loved to travel and was a worldwide traveler; Japan, Bali, Indonesia to name a few places she visited. She even went white water rafting in Colorado with James Stewart host of the television show “Passage To Adventure.” She was a true fan of Ireland and all the things it encompassed: music, dance, the color and the countryside, a place she never visited but yet was close to her heart.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 11, 2013 at 11:00 a.m., at the White-Love Funeral Home, 525 South 2nd St., Chesterton, with Pastor Judy McGee officiating.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
