Edward M. Butrym, age 57 of Valparaiso, Ind., passed away Thursday, April 5,
2012 in Valparaiso, Ind.
He was born December 8, 1954 in East Chicago, Ind.
Edward was married to Sandra (Brasher) Butrym, who survives in Valparaiso.
He is also survived by his father, Joseph Butrym of Chesterton; brothers and
sisters, Jean (Steve) Bono, of Portage, Ind., Richard (Alice) Butrym of
Chesterton, Donna Parker of Merrillville, Ind., Stanley (Cindy) Butrym of
Hobart, Ind., and Anthony Butrym of Azle, Texas; uncle, Ted Wojas; aunt,
Evelyn Wojas; many cousins, nieces and nephews; and special pets, Yuke,
Dingo and Minnie.
He was preceded in death by his mother Genowefa Butrym; grandparents and
aunts and uncles.
Edward was a lifelong area resident. He worked as a Mechanic for 32 years
for Inland Steel/Arcelor Mittal and was a member of the USW Local #1010.
Edward was a veteran of the US Marine Corps and a member of the American
Legion Post 94.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at 10:00
a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 638 N. Calumet Rd., Chesterton, Ind.,
with Father James Meade officiating.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at
Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home Portage Chapel, 6941 Central Ave., Portage,
Ind.
Visitation will also be held Wednesday, April 11, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. until
the time of mass at 10:00 a.m. at the church.
Cremation will be performed by Heritage Crematory, Portage, Ind.
