Thomas Oakley Lindquist visitation set

Thomas Oakley Lindquist of Chesterton passed away Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011 at his home. He was 70.

He was born Oct. 11, 1940 in Michigan City to Oakley and Lucille (Janasiak) Lindquist, who preceded him in death. On May 26, 1962, he married Carol (Anderson) Lindquist, who survives of Chesterton.

Also surviving are son, Scott Lindquist of Porter; daughters Juli (husband Philip) Pope of LaPorte and Kristin (Gary) Schultz of Western Springs, Ill.; sister Carol Kohler of Chesterton; and grandchildren Natalie, Paige and Thomas Pope and Gretchen and Griffin Schultz.

Tom was a life long area resident and a graduate of Chesterton High School class of 1958. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and the Chesterton Moose Lodge #1623. Tom was the owner of Porter Barber Shop and served his customers for 51 years.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011 from 1 to 7 p.m. at the Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton. At Tom’s request, funeral services will be private, with burial at Chesterton Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the VNA Hospice of Porter County, 2401 Valley Dr., Valparaiso, IN 46383, or any charity or religious affiliation of the donor’s choice.
