Stevenson 'Steve' Hunt service set

Stevenson “Steve” Wesley Hunt of Valparaiso, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011. He was 88.

Born July 18, 1922 in Sunshine, Ky., he was the son of Fielden H. and Florence (Mounts) Hunt. On July 13, 1940 in Belfrey, Ky., he married Evelyn Young, who survives.

Also surviving are his children David (wife Judy) Hunt of Westville, Patricia (husband Don) Detterman of Willard, Ohio, and Wilson (Darlene) Hunt of Jackson Township; 11 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Fielden “Sonny” Hunt, daughter-in-law Sharon Hunt, his grandson Stephen Hunt and his granddaughter Debra Kurtz.

Steve was a member of the Hugh C. Boyd Masonic Lodge #119 in Red Jacket, W. Va. for 50-plus years and the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of South Bend, a 32 degree Mason. He was an avid hunter and storyteller.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 19 at the Newhard Funeral Home, 58 W. Walnut St., Westville. Rev. Brenda Ludwig will officiate. Burial will be in Pinhook Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. www.newhardfuneralhome.com
