Service set for Diana Lee Woolwine Walton

Diana Lee Woolwine-Walton of Portage passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Porter Hospital in Valparaiso. She was 69.

She was born on July 18, 1941 in Gary to William Woolwine and Benice (Owen) Smith. A lifelong area resident, she worked as an office Manager for the Life Care Centers. She loved to read historical Southern fiction, and loved sharing her crafting skills with others. Diana was a wonderful and caring person who loved life.

She is survived by daughters Kelly (husband Ken) Schneider of Chesterton; Sandy (Terry) Carpenter of San Pierre; mother, Benice Irene Smith of Portage; grandchildren Jillian Wallace, Courtney Schneider, Taylor Carpenter, Garrett Schneider, and Dennis Carpenter; one great granddaughter Lily Lawless; and sister Sandy Woolwine of Kingman.

Diana was preceded in death by her father, William Woolwine, and two sisters, Geri Perez and Joanie Woolwine.

A eulogy will be shared at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday, May 21 at the Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home Portage Chapel, 6941 Central Ave, Portage. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 21 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation will be performed at Heritage Crematory, Portage.
