Service held for Arthur 'Wayne' Aaron

Arthur “Wayne” Aaron of New Buffalo, Mich. died at his home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, March 31, 2011. He was 68.

Wayne was born May 3, 1942 in Jasper, Ala. to Mitchel James and Sylvia Jane (Watson) Aaron. On May 5, 1973 in Michigan City, he married Leah Ann Forrest. Wayne was a truck driver having worked with Quality Carriers of Ludington, Mich. for the past 20 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he loved people and knew no strangers. Wayne’s greatest love was for his wife, children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Leah; sons, Shane Edward (wife Carrie Lee) Aaron of Knox, and Jerry Martin (Brenda) Aaron of Chesterton; grandchildren Kara Jean Aaron and Kameron Wayne Aaron; brothers Edward (Lynn) Aaron of Chesterton and Larry (Pam) Aaron of South Bend; a sister, Patricia (husband Jim) Powell of Valparaiso; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law Lee Forrest and Eugene Forrest.

Wayne is preceded in death by his parents Mitchel and Sylvia Aaron; a brother, Martin; and a sister, Francis.

A Celebration of Life Service was held today, Monday, April 4, at 11 a.m. at Sommerfeld Chapel in New Buffalo, with Rev. Damien Lake officiating. Visitation was held on Sunday at the funeral home.
