Rosie is also survived by two sons, Michael (Malissa) Valpatic of Portage, Ind. and Joseph (Jamie) Valpatic of Arvada, Colorado, two step-daughters, Kim Sessa of Florida and Cheryl (Doug) Highlan of Valparaiso. Her grandchildren are Devin and Emily Valpatic of Portage, Ethan Valpatic of Arvada, Avery and Mia Mortensen of Florida, and Zeke and Macy Highlan of Valparaiso.

Surviving siblings are Kathy (Oscar) Pace, Daniel (Katherine) Pomeroy, Mary Pomeroy of Chesterton, Donald (Shari) Pomeroy of Brazil, Indiana, and Margret Pomeroy of Schererville, Indiana. She will also be missed by several nieces and nephews.

Rosie was a graduate of Chesterton High School and went on to real estate where she was affiliated with many local agencies. Currently she was a Broker Associate at Coldwell Banker Porter County. Most recently, she was pursuing and completed with highest honors an Associate of Science in Medical Billing and Coding from Colorado Technical University.

Rosie had many interests including patio gardening and bird watching, but mostly she was a devoted grandmother, loving mother, sister, aunt and friend to many. All who knew her will miss that recognizable smile and infectious laugh.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the American Diabetes Association.
