Floyd Naillieux service held

Floyd M. Naillieux, 93, of Wheeler, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2011 at home. He was 93.

Born Oct. 27, 1917 in Concordia, Kansas, he was the son of James E. and Johanna l. (Underwood) Naillieux. He attended Calumet High School and served four years with the U.S. Marine Corps in the south Pacific during WW II. Floyd was a member of Wheeler United Methodist Church, was active with the White Oak Conservancy District and Wood Chucks of Portage and had served as Wheeler Fire Chief for 28 years. He had worked for the Overhead Door Company of Lake and Porter counties for many years and belonged to the Carpenters Union for 55 years.

On Feb. 25, 1945, he married Marjorie Tustin, who preceded him in death in 1990. On Jan. 14, 2006, he married Lois Dixon, who survives.

Also surviving are his children Nancy (husband Gene) Brown of LaCrosse, Patricia Carney of Portage, Barbara Humphries of Valparaiso, Elizabeth (Ron) Beach of Chesterton, Susan Ciesielski of Hobart, Joanne (Sam) Hart of Walnut Ridge, Ark., Jennifer Naillieux of Cedar Lake, and Matthew Naillieux of Wheeler; brother Kenneth (Sallie) Naillieux of Greencastle; sisters Pauline Toth of Valparaiso and Wanda (Paul) Marquart of Valparaiso; 14 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Walter, Earle, Glenn and Carl.

A funeral service was held Wednesday at the Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Road, Valparaiso, with Rev. David Banning officiating. Entombment followed at Graceland mausoleum.
