Service set for William Ameling

Porter resident William G. Ameling passed away Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010. He was 82.

Bill was born on April 20, 1928 in Gary to the late William J. and Ethel M. Johnson Ameling. On Dec. 1, 1951 at St. Patrick Catholic Church he married Rosemary Dabbert Ameling, who survives in Porter.

Also surviving are children Lisa Zeese (late husband David) of Lafayette, Ind., Bill Ameling (wife Carol) of Shorewood, Minn., Mark Ameling of Porter, and Bernadette Frazer (Eric) of Indianapolis;11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

Bill was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and was employed at City Corp as a loan officer for 32 years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 9 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 638 N. Calumet Road, Chesterton with Father James Meade officiating. The burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Sept. 8 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the White-Love Funeral Home, 525 South 2nd St., Chesterton. A rosary service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Memorials may be given in William’s name to St. Patrick Church. For more information, call White-Love Funeral Home at 926-1309.
