Service set for Herb Lasser

Chesterton resident Herb Lasser, 81, died Wednesday, March 19, 2010.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jo; children, David (Rona) Lasser and Laura E. Lasser; grandchildren, Mallory and Kate Lasser and Sam Stein; nieces and nephews, Phyliss Koch Sheras, Janice Koch Libbin, Roz Wolff, Debbie Gordon, and Fred and Don Weiss.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Abe and Ella Lasser; and siblings Leonard Lasser, Dolly (Morton) Koch, and Millie (Mickey) Weiss.

He was a member of Temple Israel, a 1946 graduate of Horace Mann, and a 1953 graduate of the Valparaiso University School of Law. He practiced law for nearly 60 years in Northwest Indiana and Chicago and lived his final 14 years at the Estates of Sand Creek. He enjoyed Chicago culture and sports.

A public memorial service is scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday, March 20, at the Sand Creek Country Club.
