Clarence 'Butch' Penn service set

Chesterton resident Clarence G. “Butch” Penn passed away Friday, April 23, 2010 at Porter Hospital Valparaiso Campus. He was 70.

Born Feb. 10, 1940 in Chicago, he was the son of Charles R. Penn and Alma (Stultz) Penn, both of whom preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Emily “Tootie” (Fornshell) Penn of Chesterton; daughters Shelley (husband Randall) Beare of Chesterton, Marcey (Nicholas) Underwood of Knox and Brandi Penn of Chesterton; six grandchildren Evan Steiner, Holli Penn, Emily Underwood, Corbin Beare, Lily Underwood and Maize Underwood; brother Rev. Gerald (Jane) Penn of Missouri; and life-long friend and brother-in-law, Carl “Pork” Charlson.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter Leslie Steiner in 1992, brothers Kenneth and Donald Penn, and sister Flora Elam.

Butch was a past member of the Midwestern Saddle and Bridal Association.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 27 at 7 p.m. from the White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St., Chesterton. There will be a private family burial Wednesday at Chesterton Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 3 p.m. until the time of service. For more information, call 926-1309.
