Mary Marice Mounce dies at 77

Mary Marice Mounce, 77, of Michigan City, formerly of La Porte, died at 4:45 a.m. May 4, 2009 at St. Anthony Memorial Health Center, Michigan City.

She was born July 30, 1931 in La Porte, the daughter of Walter and Pauline (Bonifas) Jones, both of whom preceded her in death.

She is survived by three daughters, Paula (Curtis) Jones of Michigan City, Maureen (Chuck) Tuter of Burns Harbor, Lynn Mounce of Michigan City, two sons, Jack (Lynn) Geren of Beaufort, South Carolina and Steve Mounce of Michigan City, also three grandchildren, Jack Geren, III, Jessica Jones and Christopher Tuter; four great granddaughters; one sister, Geraldine Kubaszyk of La Porte, and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded by a sister, Frances Thomas.

She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and former member of Queen of All Saints Catholic Church of Michigan City. She was a cashier for 30 years for Al's Supermarket in Michigan City.

A Funeral Mass, Rev. Ted Nordquist officiating, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 7 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Thursday, following the service.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 6. A Prayer Service will be held Wednesday, May 6 at 7 p.m., with Rev. Ted Nordquist officiating. Visitation will continue Thursday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Essling Funeral Home.
