Lorraine C. Roberts dies at 93

Life-long Chesterton resident Lorraine C. Roberts, 93, passed away Friday, September 18, 2009 at VNA Horton Hospice Center, Valparaiso.

She was born December 22, 1915 in Chesterton, the daughter of Arthur and Minnie (Johnson) Isbey, both of whom preceded her in death.

On July 8, 1945 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Chesterton, she married George W. Roberts, who survives in Chesterton.

She is also survived by a brother, Arthur H. Isbey of Valparaiso, two nieces, Kay Copollo, of Porter and Linda Elder, of Federal Way, Wash. and three nephews, Richard Isbey, of Everette, Wash, James Isbey, of Chesterton and Ronald Isbey, of Seattle, Washington.

She was also preceded in death by brothers, Orion and Oliver Isbey and sister, Myrtle Isbey.

Lorraine was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Chesterton. A homemaker, she enjoyed cooking, baking and had a love of antiques.

Funeral services, Pastor Jane Aicher officiating, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22 at White-Love funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd Street, Chesterton. Interment will follow at Chesterton Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. at the Funeral Home.

Memorials may be given to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 2050 W. 1100N, Chesterton.
