James Stephen Strange dies at 42

James Stephen Strange “Jay”, age 42, of Albuquerque, N.M. for 16 years, formerly of Chesterton, passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2008 in Albuquerque.

He was born March 11, 1965 in College Station, Texas.

Jay is survived by his mother Elizabeth M. (Stephens) Tarchala of Porter.

He is also survived by siblings Marc (Keri) Tarchala of Overland Park, Kan., Shaun (Richard) Beecher of Martinsville, Gene (Emily) Strange of Arlington, Texas, Peggy (Charles) Thomas of Portage, and Colleen (Jan) Olstad of Albuquerque; 10 nieces and nephews; an aunt, Anita (Eloy) Serna of Albuquerque and an uncle, Theodore (Jeanie) Stephens of Palo Alto, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Strange, a sister Sherry Strange and step-father, Barney Tarchala.

Jay was a registered nurse in the OR at University of New Mexico Hospital. Jay will be missed by all who knew him. He was a good friend and an outstanding nurse.

Funeral Service, Major LeeAnn Burkett and Major Brian Burkett officiating, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday Feb. 19 at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home. Interment will be at Chesterton Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday Feb. 19, from 11 a.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton.
