Bonalee Bonnie Mae McCord nee Shipp dies at 82

Bonalee “ Bonnie” Mae McCord (nee Shipp) passed away on Monday January 7, 2008 at her residence in Chesterton. She was 80.

She was born on June 8, 1927 in Newark, Ohio to Paul Shipp and Elizabeth Livingston Shipp both of whom preceded her.

In Newark, Ohio in 1950 she married James B. McCord III who preceded her in death on January 8, 1984.

She is survived by sons Scot (Janet) McCord and Douglas (Kimberly) McCord, both of Chesterton; a brother Paul (Dorothy) Shipp Jr. of Newark, Ohio and grandchildren, Scot P. (Amy) McCord, Jasmin McCord, Bradley McCord and Alison McCord, all of Chesterton; great-grandchildren, Summer, Christian, Roland, Analise and Mosiah.

She was also preceded in death by a grandson Matthew Wiseman.

She worked as a Secretary for Clark Equipment. Bonalee enjoyed singing and bowling, she was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

A memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10 at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home 517 Broadway, Chesterton. Cremation will be at Heritage Crematory.
