James W. Hargrove III dies at 65

James W. Hargrove III, of Valparaiso, passed away peacefully Monday, April 16, 2007.

He was born May 27, 1941 in Buddtown, N.J., the son of Helen and James Hargrove Jr., who preceded him in death.

On June 5, 1966, he married Patricia Kehm, who survives in Valparaiso.

He is also survived by children, James W. (Julianne) Hargrove IV, of Bremerton, Wash. and Cynthia Elizabeth (Raymond) Hourani of San Diego, Calif. and grandchildren, Jeffrey, Ashley, Michael and Trevor Hargrove and Raymond Hourani.

Also surviving are sisters, Barbara (Norman) Gerber, Helen (late Lester) Dandey, Nancy (Skip) Clayton and Alice Hargrove, all of N.J.; a brother, Ted (Gertie) Hargrove of Tenn. many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Jim proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1959-1970. He was retired from Portage Electric Supply Co. and Sears Parts & Repair services. He was a member of American Legion Post 502 in South Haven. He loved traveling to see his children and grandchildren, gardening, festivals and parades.

Family will receive friends at Christ Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall, 2610 N. Campbell, Valparaiso Saturday, April 21 from 10 -11 a.m. with Memorial Service/Luncheon at 11 a.m. Cremation is scheduled and his ashes will be scattered in San Diego, Calif. at a later date.

There will be no visitation.

Memorial donations may be made to Porter County Special Olympics or the American Lung Assoc. Arrangements are under the direction of White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St., Chesterton. Phone 926-1309.
