The South Shore commuter line will be offering 10-percent discounts off monthly tickets in March.

Last week, South Shore train services were suspended on several days due to the extreme subzero temperatures along with damage to the Metra Electric District from a CN freight train derailment and the adverse weather.

The South Shore recognizes the strain and inconvenience that suspended services have on commuters. Therefore, as a way of saying thank you, South Shore Line is offering a 10-percent discount for March monthly ticket purchases. Discount pricing will automatically be applied at the time the March ticket is purchased.

If you obtain your monthly pass through WageWorks, WiredCommute or RTA, NICTD is working with these vendors to ensure the discount is applied.
