The fourth annual Prairie Magic Music Festival at Sunset Hill Park is set for Saturday, Aug. 17. Rock legends Los Lobos are heading out from Los Angeles all the way to Northwest Indiana to headline the festival.

Prairie Magic Musical Festival is a celebration of rock, Americana, and blues music, with food vendors, a beer garden, free water on-site all day, along with children’s activities. Doors open at 12 p.m. and the music begins at 1 p.m. Also performing in the festival lineup are Robbie Fulks, Bottle Rockets and Big Road.

The official festival musical set times are: Big Road from 1 to 1:45 p.m., Robbie Fulks from 2 to 3:15 p.m., Bottle Rockets from 3:30 to 4:45 p.m., and Los Lobos from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

Originally from LA, Los Lobos’ music is a rock-and-roll, Tex-Mex blend. The three-time Grammy-award-winning group has been making music for more than 40 years, has received a Latin Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2015.

Food vendors at the festival will include Leroy’s Hot Stuff, Scooter’s BBQ, Ben’s Soft Pretzels, and Valpo Velvet. No outside food and beverages are allowed.

Park visitors are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and sun shades to enjoy this family friendly event at the outdoor amphitheater at Sunset Hill Farm Park. Wagon rides will be available to take attendees from the parking area to the amphitheater.

Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the gate. Porter County Parks & Recreation is also opening up the Sunset Hill Farm Campground for camping the night of the festival. Families can rent space in the open field portion of the campground for just $5. To rent a campground space, or for more information, contact Porter County Parks & Recreation at (219)465-3586.
