Parents As Teachers 'Touch a Truck' event at Sunset Hill Farm Park Saturday

The Parents As Teachersí Touch a Truck will return for the annual event this Saturday, July 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Sunset Hill Farm, in Liberty Township. Sunset Hill Farm is located at 775 Meridian Road, at the corner of Meridian and Hwy. 6. 

Children will get a chance to get behind the wheel of more than 60 vehicles and rub elbows with their hometown heroes.

There will be monster trucks, fire trucks, police cars, garbage truck, limousine, helicopter and much more.

The cost of admission is $20 cash per car load and includes access to all vehicles, a foam field, tiny tot riding experience, train rides on Little Obie and fire, rescue themed bounce house.

The first 100 kids in the gate will receive a free pair of goggles provided by Waterway Pool and Spa and a die cast car. There will be food available for purchase during the event. One hundred percent of the proceeds benefit Parents as Teachers of Porter County and will go to provide early educational programming for children 3-5.

Touch a Truck helps jump start PAT's free Ready, Set, Kindergarten programs, offered in Duneland, Portage and Valparaiso.

These classes give children access to preschool that otherwise might not be able to attend. Parents as Teachers is a 501c3 nonprofit organization.
