Celebrity actor Joey Lawrence stars in a new movie ‘Pardoned by Grace’, being produced by The Road to Life Church. The crew was filming here in Chesterton, at the Duneland Chamber of Commerce, last Friday and earlier around town.

The feature film, based on the true story of how now Pastor Scott Highberger (a former prisoner) turned himself around in prison, then received an unlikely pardon so that he could go back into prisons and continue his ministry to others.

Pastor Scott has now joined with Pastor Dave Gargano at the Road to Life Church in Chesterton and Michigan City. Services are held every Sunday at 9 and 11 a.m.

Lawrence is best known for roles in the TV series “Blossom” and “Brotherly Love.” He has also appeared in dozens of feature films and TV series episodes.

During the filming, Lawrence met with Nichole Charlene of the Duneland Chamber of Commerce and they talked of his daughters and he said Chesterton reminded him “of a Hallmark town and he will definitely love to come back to visit”.

Among those working to make the project possible are Road to Life Church, Pastor Scott Highberger, Pastor Dave Gargano, Producer Brandon Riley, Director Kevin Otto, writer Melissa Stamper and a variety of volunteers.
