The annual Duneland
Community Prayer Breakfast will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 9, at Trinity
Hall at St. Patrick Church, 640 N. Calumet Rd. in Chesterton.
The doors will open
at 7 a.m. Please be seated by 7:20 a.m. The breakfast will start promptly at
7:30 a.m. and the goal is for the event to conclude at 9 a.m.
This year’s speaker
is Henriette Ngenga. In 1994, when Henriette was 28 years old and pregnant
with her fifth child, the Hutu government in Ruwanda decided that the
minority Tutsi tribe was a threat and should be wiped out completely.
Henriette will tell her story of one mother’s love, terror, faith and
survival: “I told God if I survived, I would tell my story . . . our story.
More than 20 years later, the time has come.”
The Community
Prayer Breakfast is organized by a group of local men and women to provide a
time of fellowship and reflection for people of all faiths in the midst of
our ever changing world. Please join us this year to hear Henriette's
inspirational message.
The cost for the
2019 Community Prayer Breakfast is $25 per person or $200 per table of
eight. Tickets are available at Anton Insurance (Chesterton and Valparaiso
offices), Chesterton Tribune, Duneland Chamber of Commerce, Duneland Family
YMCA, and Duneland Resale in Chesterton. For more information, call Anton
