The 24th Annual Wizard of Oz Festival committee has announced Lunch with the
Official Oz Costumed Characters will be back again this year. The last two
luncheons planned especially for children were such overwhelming successes
that it’s back by popular demand. Because of the popularity, there are now
two different times set for children to visit with the Oz Costumed
Characters. As a special treat, each child will receive an autographed photo
of the Costumed Characters.
The event will be at 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. or 1:45 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept.
17 at Westchester Public Library Service Center, 100 Indiana Ave.,
Chesterton. Luncheons are sponsored by Schoop’s.
The luncheon will allow children from 2-10 years of age to enjoy almost an
hour of fun with the Official Oz Costumed Characters which will include the
Cowardly Lion, Scarecrow, Tin Man, Glinda the Good Witch, a Flying Monkey,
Wicked Witch of the West and, Dorothy and Toto.
Tickets are $4 per child and advance purchase is required and available at
the information booth while supply lasts. Parents are welcome to accompany
their child, however, only the children will be served lunch. Also due to
limited seating and the safety of all, no more than two adults will be
allowed to accompany children to this event.
