State Rep. Ralph Ayres, R-Chesterton, hosted two of the Munchkins from The
Wizard of Oz movie on the Indiana House Floor Monday.
Mickey Carroll, 86, and Meinhardt Raabe, 89, were in Indianapolis for the
Hollywood Film Works and visited the Statehouse. Ayres, who in 1983 was
named the “Mayor for Life of Munchkin Land,” honored the guests.
“I am pleased to share these renowned people with the General Assembly,”
Ayres said. “Hearing them speak and signing pictures from the 1939 movie
really brought back the fun and child in a lot of representatives.”
