Voice of the People
Duneland School Corporation Superintendent Dick Baer is disturbed by the
visage of democracy storming the totalitarian style school corporation.
Does someone not like the public telling the “PUBLIC” schools what to do?
I think the state issuing tools for citizens to be involved in their local
communities is a wonderful thing. The citizenry needs all the help we can
get.
Our community cannot afford another sinking school, ramrodded through for
more academic space, just to turn out a multi million dollar sports complex.
Nor does the elitist swill of east Porter Ave. deserve a fancier school to
fit their taste. Maybe we should take a closer look at our existing schools
that are already strategically positioned in the community before we plunge
into an expansion our tax base can not afford.
