Porter town officials prepare to lose it all for charity

Back To Front Page

Last year it was just Porter Town Council member Greg Stinson. This year itís also the Porter Park director, the Public Works director and five members of her staff.

All get their heads shaved Saturday for a St. Baldrickís Foundation fundraiser benefiting pediatric cancer treatment and research.

Everyone on Stinsonís Porter team except park director Brian Bugajski will lose their locks at a 2 p.m. Shave for the Brave event at the Valparaiso University gymnasium.

Bugajski needs to be at the annual Porter Easter Egg Hunt at Hawthorne Parkís community building so his ceremonial shave will take place there. He commented Tuesday that heís been letting his hair grow in anticipation of the event.

Stinsonís collar-length curly hair has nearly returned to its full growth at the time it was shaved last year.

Brueckheimer said sheís a little nervous about losing her hair, but itís for a good cause.
