Contrary to rumors, the Dune Acres Clubhouse passed a recent fire inspection with flying colors.

Representatives of the State Fire Marshall and the State Building Inspector, both now under the umbrella of Homeland Security, joined Porter Fire Chief Lewis Craig to inspect the building in response to a complaint.

No major problems were found, Craig said.

One minor problem, a cover off of an electrical box, was repaired the same day, said Craig, in response to a telephone call today.

“Everything is fine,” he added.
