Redevelopment Commission has approved this season’s paving and sidewalk
projects in the town’s original tax increment financing district.
At their meeting
Monday night, members voted unanimously to approve a list of seven projects
at a total estimated cost of $318,795.
The paving list, as
submitted by Street Commissioner John Schnadenberg:
--Sand Creek Drive
North from Sandpiper Drive to Michael Drive (cost: $48,000).
between Sand Creek Drive North and Roberts Road ($11,000).
--Roberts Road from
Indian Boundary Road to Michael Drive ($58,821).
Road from Ind. 49 to the town’s corporate limits, near the North Porter
County Conservation Club ($58,920).
Road from 1100N to the roundabout at Rail Road ($124,054).
And the sidewalk
--The west side of
South Calumet Road from Broadway south to Datagraphics ($8,000).
--And the east side
of South Calumet Road from Porter Ave. to Jefferson Ave. ($10,000).
noted, these projects are all in the TIF district and will be funded with
tax increment financing moneys. There will be other paving and sidewalk
projects elsewhere in town, however, funded through a 50/50 Community
Crossings state infrastructure grant as well as through the remaining
proceeds of $1.8-million general obligation bond issued in 2018.
