Leaf pickup over for 2013; brush continues

Back To Front Page

You can stick a fork in the Town of Chesterton’s annual leaf-collection program.

It’s done.

Street Commissioner John Schnadenberg told the Chesterton Tribune today that there will be no more leaf pickups this year. Folks who are of a mind to may haul their leaves to the municipal yard-waste facility at 1490 Broadway (entrance to the facility itself on 15th Street).

Otherwise, Schnadenberg said, “we’ll see you in the spring.”

Crews are, however, continuing to collect brush. Extra manpower has, in fact, been tasked to brush duty, Schnadenberg said. “We’re going after it aggressively.”

Call the Street Department at 926-2222 to request brush collection.
