Burns Harbor Town Council member Louis Bain has been activated for his third tour of duty in Iraq.

Bain announced at Wednesday’s Town Council meeting he will leave next Thursday for a seven month assignment.

Bain, a Indiana Marine Reserve Gunnery Sergeant, said he will be posted to the same place he served before, filling in for an injured fellow Marine Sgt. in Al Anbar Province, Iraq.

Bain presented an American flag to the Burns Harbor Town Council in April of this year. The flag flew over Bain’s Bravo Company installation during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Bain said he greatly appreciates the support shown to him and his family during his previous deployments. “I ask for it again,” he added.
