The Burns Harbor Town Council will meet Wednesday, November 14, at 7:00 p.m.,
in the Town Hall, 1240 N. Boo Rd.
Listed on the agenda is discussion of an ordinance to establish a Planned
Unit Development District (PUD) and a plan of development.
The PUD under consideration has been forwarded to the Town Council with an
unfavorable recommendation from the Advisory Plan Commission.
The proposed 40 unit development of paired patio homes and a clubhouse, named
Stone River, received a 5-2 unfavorable vote at the Oct. 9 Advisory Plan
Commission meeting.
The proposed development would be located on Rt. 20, west of S.R. 149 and
east of The Villages of Burns Harbor.
The parcel is being eyed by some in town as a possible pedestrian friendly
“town center.”
An update is expected on the town’s assessed valuation and the property tax
distribution.
The council will likely hear a report on progress toward installation of a
new street light at the northwest corner of the intersection of U.S. 20 and
Salt Creek Rd.
Also, the council is expected to continue discussion of condemnation of
derelict property or homes in town.
Regular business includes reports from department heads, approval of vouchers
from department heads with signatures of three or more council members,
approval of minutes of the council’s previous meeting and a town financial
report.
The meeting is open to the public and there is always a segment of the
meeting open for public comment.
