After a second place finish at Michigan City Marquette, a third place finish at Wawasee and a fourth place finish at the Hall of Fame Tournament, the Chesterton boys golf team picked up its first Invitational win of the season at LaVille on Saturday.

The Trojans ran through Sprig O’ Mint Golf Club with a 315 team score to best second place Triton (321) and third place Prairie Heights (334) in the 12-team field.

Individually, Chesterton was led by the third place overall finish of Ryan Grassel who carded a 77. Josh Kalita and Nick Stasil tied for fourth overall with solid 78’s. Pat Herrod shot an 82 and Kyle Grassel rounded out the scoring with an 85.
