The Chesterton girls tennis team got the two points they expected, but
couldn’t find the elusive third point in falling 3-2 in Duneland Athletic
Conference play against LaPorte on Tuesday.
“Our doubles really came through tonight,” Chesterton coach Gretchen Shinn
said. “I felt like we were going to dominate there and they did. We were
swept in singles and just couldn’t find that third point.”
In doubles, the duo of Cristi Williams and Bharathi Muthusamy had little
trouble in disposing of Jaime Howell and Haley Ash 6-3, 6-1 at No. 1. At No.
2, Amanda Gore and Christine Lambert were equally impressive in beating Jamie
Wedow and Niki Lamb 6-2, 6-1.
Chesterton returns to the court on Thursday when they host Valparaiso
beginning at 4:15 p.m.

The Chesterton junior varsity tennis team got a victory from Cassi Moore at
No. 1 singles and four wins in doubles play to beat LaPorte 5-4 on Tuesday.
In doubles, winners for the Trojans included Lauren Ingram-Stacey Kammerer,
Olivia Gordon-Shelbie Sullivan, Sara Torabi-Heather Ribar and Amanda
Stolarz-Holly Klawson.
In singles, Moore beat Jyoti Bock 8-6.
