The Chesterton girls tennis team got the two points they expected, but couldn’t find the elusive third point in falling 3-2 in Duneland Athletic Conference play against LaPorte on Tuesday.

“Our doubles really came through tonight,” Chesterton coach Gretchen Shinn said. “I felt like we were going to dominate there and they did. We were swept in singles and just couldn’t find that third point.”

In doubles, the duo of Cristi Williams and Bharathi Muthusamy had little trouble in disposing of Jaime Howell and Haley Ash 6-3, 6-1 at No. 1. At No. 2, Amanda Gore and Christine Lambert were equally impressive in beating Jamie Wedow and Niki Lamb 6-2, 6-1.

Chesterton returns to the court on Thursday when they host Valparaiso beginning at 4:15 p.m.
