The Chesterton girls soccer team finished its regular season with a 7-0 non-conference victory over Griffith on Senior Night Thursday.

“We had a great turnout from the Duneland Soccer Club and the rest of the community that really helped make the night special for our seniors,” Chesterton coach Ben Forgey said. “And they’ve earned the right to feel special.”

Goal scorers for the Trojans included Ashlee Bakaitis (3), Addy Joiner (2), Kaitlyn Kogl and Olivia Vesling.

“Sometimes the ‘out of the ordinary’ stuff leads to a slow start,” Forgey said. “Not tonight, not for us. From the start, we got after it and pressured Griffith from every direction.”

Joiner (3), Bakaitis (2) and Annalisa Hackett all dished out assists.

“It was fun to see the girls moving the ball around and playing so well,” Forgey said. “It was another really good all-around performance from the entire team.”

Hollie Skoczek recorded the shutout in goal.
