Trojan Boys Soccer beats Merrillville 4-0

The Chesterton boys soccer team improved to 5-0-2 on the year and 3-0 in Duneland Athletic Conference play with a 4-0 victory at Merrillville on Wednesday night.

“We had lots of shots and worked well together tonight,” Chesterton coach Jamie Sensibaugh said. “We moved up the field cohesively and stayed compact on the defensive end. They had very few opportunities.”

Harley Lohmeyer and Logan Stewart both scored a pair of goals to lead the Trojans. Seth Conway dished out two assists and Andy VanNoort added a helper.

In goal, Doug Filipek (1 save) and Charlie Eaton (3 saves) combined for Chesterton’s fifth shutout victory of the year.

The Trojans return to the field on Saturday when they travel to Munster to take on the undefeated Mustangs. The JV match is set for a 10 a.m. start.
