Chesterton’s Jordan Peterson threw a gem for nine innings, but the Trojans
couldn’t crack the scoreboard and fell 1-0 in 10 innings at Lake Central
Thursday night.
Peterson struck out 10 in nine innings of work and went 2-for-3 offensively
to lead the Trojans. The Trojans managed just one other hit as LC pitchers
Brad Wartman and Taylor Lehnert retired CHS’ last 24 batters.
Lake Central scored in the 10th inning on an RBI single by Chase Fieldhouse.

The Chesterton junior varsity blew open a close game with 10 runs over the
final three innings en route to a 12-5 win over Lake Central.
Offensively, Kevin Jones had three hits, including a grand slam, while Nate
Crownover also hit a grand slam. Corey Rusboldt collected three hits with
Crownover, Andrew Ralph, Brandon Roeske and Mitch Kobitz getting two hits
each.
Kobitz threw the
first five innings on the mound, allowing just one hit and striking out
eight before giving way to Jeremy Jaeger (4 strikeouts).
