Munster hands CHS Boys soccer its first loss

The Chesterton boys soccer team dropped its first decision of the season on Saturday in a 1-0 defeat at Munster.

A scoreless game through the first half, the Mustangs scored in the 57th minute when Nate Kekelik scored the days only tally.

We have to clear the ball, Chesterton coach Jamie Sensibaugh said. I didnt see the fight from us Ive seen in the past.

The Trojans appeared to tie the game on a goal by Harley Lohmeyer, but a foul against Chesterton at the top of the box negated the goal.

CHS returns to the field on Wednesday when they host Crown Point.

The JV game is set for a 5 p.m. start.

Munster 1, Chesterton 0


Chesterton - Doug Filipek 8 saves.

Munster - Nate Kekelik 1 goal; Kyle Snyder 4 saves.

Records: Chesterton 5-1-2, Munster 7-0-0.
