Chesterton freshman Jack Tolin and junior Sawyer Hallas were selected to compete in the NWCA/USAW National Duals held at Wabash College in Crawfordsville last weekend.

Tolin was 6-1 on the weekend, losing only to the Illinois state champion. His efforts earned him All-American status.

Hallas’ wins included a major decision over a Kentucky state place-winner.

Both of their efforts helped their Indiana Renegade Gold team place second in their pool and 11th overall out of 24 teams.

The duals included teams made up of the highest placing underclassmen from Ohio, Indiana, Minnesota, Kentucky, Colorado, Illinois and Virginia.

CMS 8th graders Lucas Davison and Diego Lemley competed on the Indiana Inferno Middle School team at the National AAU Middle School Duals held in Des Moines, IA.

The Inferno placed third out of 36 teams representing Kansas, Illinois, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, North Carolina, Wyoming, and Nebraska.

Lemley was 4-4 and Davison was 5-3, earning him All-American status, over the two day event.
