The Chesterton wrestling team finished 7th overall at the Duneland Athletic Conference Meet on Saturday at Valparaiso High School.

Wrestling without several starters, the Trojans managed to advance two wrestlers into the Championship round.

Alex Katsafaros beat Merrillville’s Matt Hollins 6-5 and Lake Central’s Jake Sebahar 3-0 before falling to Crown Point’s Jason Tsirtsis in the finals at 145 pounds.

Chris Katsafaros got an opening round forfeit and then beat Crown Point’s Trevor Blue 8-2 before falling to Merrillville’s Zac Sandefur 6-2 in the finals at 152 pounds.

Chesterton’s Kaitlin Loehmer finished fourth at 106 pounds and Dax Jones was fourth at 160 pounds.
