CHS Volleyball beats Michigan City in 4 games

The Chesterton volleyball team picked up a hard-fought 25-16, 25-23, 20-25, 25-22 victory at Michigan City on Thursday.

Offensively, Emily Marcus led the team with 12 kills, while Brittany Milzarek and Sammi Ostrom each tallied eight kills. Jessica Urycki and Sara Tarnowski had six kills each.

Kennedy Baltus dished out a team-high 21 assists with Shelby Snyder recording 12.

Defensively, Jordyn Moleski had 35 digs and Tarnowski tallied 23. Baltus and Snyder each recorded 13 digs and Ashley Hecimovich had 11.

At the net, Milzarek had three block kills, while Ostrom and Marcus had two block kills each.

Nagdeman led the way from the service line with four aces. Hecimovich, Tarnowski and Marcus all had two aces.

Junior Varsity

Chesterton 25-25,

Michigan City 19-19

The Chesterton junior varsity beat Michigan City 25-19, 25-19 on Thursday.

Offensively, Kaitlin Kuypers led the Trojans with six kills with Haley Notzen adding five kills. Laney Marcus and Abby Moon each had four kills.

Jenna Tarnowski dished out 12 assists and had a team-high six service aces. Marcus had three service aces.

Defensively, Kuypers had four digs and Marcus tallied three. Taylor Eaton also recorded two digs.


Chesterton 25-25,

Michigan City 20-14

The Chesterton freshman beat Michigan City 25-20, 25-14 on Thursday.

Offensively, Hannah Mix had a team-high six kills. Kandice Kuypers and Morgan Fulayter had three kills each, while Hayley McBride had two kills.

Maddie Jones dished out 12 assists in the win.

Defensively, Alex Devereaux had nine digs and Taylor Cruz had eight digs. McBride and Fulayter had six digs each in the victory.
